What we do

The Royal Wolverhampton Trust employs a dedicated Learning Disability team. We will ensure that everything possible is done to enable children, young people and adults with learning disabilities to have effective personalised care and treatment that is provided in an efficient and compassionate manner.

How we can help:
- We can support patients, their families or carers during a hospital admission: We can liaise with ward areas to arrange bespoke visiting and support arrangements and reasonable adjustments that may be required.
- We can look at reasonable adjustments needed for people to access healthcare at outpatient appointments, for example a quiet place to wait or a longer appointment time.
- By supporting professionals in the care of a person with a learning disability and helping them work effectively with that person
- Ensuring effective care that involves the patient and their family/carer in the decision-making process around treatment and discharge
